Domaradzki Elected Associate Fellow

AME professor Julian Andrzej Domaradzki has been elected Associate Fellow in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Associate Fellows are members who have accomplished or been in charge of important engineering or scientific work, or have done original work of outstanding merit, or have otherwise made outstanding contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics.

Newly elected Associate Fellows will be feted at a special dinner at the 50th annual AIAA Aerospace Sciences Conference to be held this year on January 9, 2012, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where they will receive their Associate Fellows certificates and silver AIAA Associate Fellows lapel pins.

Geoffrey Spedding, chairman of the AME Department, commented, "We are very pleased to join in congratulating Professor Domaradzki for his truly notable contributions, and look forward to many more!"

Domaradzki is noted for his work in computational fluid mechanics, particularly in large eddy simulations of turbulence in many types of flows.
