AME professor
Fokion Egolfopoulos has been elected Associate Fellow in the
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
Associate Fellows are members who have accomplished or been in charge
of important engineering or scientific work, or have done original
work of outstanding merit, or have otherwise made outstanding
contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or
astronautics.
Newly elected Associate Fellows are feted at a special dinner at the
annual AIAA Aerospace Science Conference to be held this year on
January 4, 2011, in Orlando, Florida, where they receive their
Associate Fellows certificates and silver AIAA Associate Fellows lapel
pins.
Geoffrey Spedding, chairman of the AME Department, commented "We
heartily congratulate Fokion for his continued distinguished
contributions." We all join Professor Spedding in congratulating
Professor Egolfopoulos on his receipt of this honor.
