AME's Satwindar Sadhal Wins Medal

AME's own Prof. Satwindar Singh Sadhal has been awarded the American Society of Mechanical Engineers' James Harry Potter Gold Medal for 2007. This medal "recognizes eminent achievement or distinguished service in the science of thermodynamics in mechanical engineering." It is awarded based on the candidate's contributions in the "teaching, appreciation, or utilization of thermodynamic principles in research, development, and design in mechanical engineering." In Professor Sadhal's case the citation reads

For advancing the fundamental thermodynamics of phase change and interfacial phenomena with seminal research on heat-mass transfer via droplets and bubbles and their fluid dynamics in natural and industrial systems, and for lasting contributions to mechanical engineering through teaching and archival literature.
Congratulations, Prof. Sadhal!
