Undergraduate students in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering can get involved in any of a series of ongoing projects. These include

USC Microsatellite Program:
The USC Microsatellite Program is a student organization committed to the design, manufacturing, launch, and operation of a microsatellite. The team consists of over 100 dedicated students supported by numerous university faculty and staff, and members of the aerospace community.

SAE Racing Team:
Students design, build, and test small open-wheel cars and compete with schools from all over the country.
Design-Build-Fly Competition Team:
Students design, build and fly a plane every year in an international competition
AIAA Student Chapter:
The USC AIAA Branch was re-chartered in 1981. Our purpose is to advance the arts, sciences, and technology of aeronautics and astronautics and to foster and promote the professionalism of those engaged in these pursuits
Radio Controlled Harrier Project
Pi Tau Sigma:
“A Mechanical Engineering Honor Society striving to create better engineers through commitment to academic excellence and dedication to service.”
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers:

Other Student Projects

Micro Aerial Vehicle Program:
In the new Micro Aerial Vehicle (MAV) Program students design, build, and fly a remotely controlled MAV.

In addition to these, undergraduates are encouraged to join the research programs of department faculty members. For those all-too-rare times away from work, USC campus life is rich and varied.
